La renuncia de Steve Jobs ha inflado la web con artí­culos de todo tipo, reseñando su carrera profesional en Apple, resumiendo sus éxitos o recopilando sus apariciones estelares en presentaciones de producto. Recogemos lo más destacado de la marcha del ya ex CEO de Apple, así­ como su carta de dimisión y el email que su sustituto, Tim Cook, envió a los empleados.

Steve Jobs ha dejado un legado increí­ble. Apple pasó de estar en sus horas más bajas en los años 90 a convertirse en menos de 15 años en la compañí­a más valorada de la industria tecnológica, disputándole a Exxon Mobil el primer puesto de la empresa más cotizada del mundo.

Las cartas que enviaron a los empleados de Apple, tanto el antiguo CEO como el nuevo, recogen el buen sabor de boca que queda en la compañí­a por la etapa de Jobs, aunque coinciden en que habrá una continuidad de la polí­tica de innovación seguida hasta ahora.

«Creo que los dí­as más brillantes e innovadores de Apple están aún por llegar», indica Jobs en su carta, apuntando asimismo: «Por lo que respecta a mi sucesor, recomiendo encarecidamente que pongamos en práctica el plan de sucesión y nombremos a Tim Cook CEO de Apple.»

Por su parte, el nuevo CEO Time Cook ha señalado: «Steve ha sido un increí­ble lí­der y mentor para mí­». «Deseo que tengan la seguridad de que Apple no va a cambiar», indicaba el recién nombrado directivo.

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
